Day session vs night session

Day sessions run across Rod Laver, Margaret Court and John Cain Arenas at once, so a day ticket usually means more tennis on offer. Night sessions are Rod Laver Arena only, and since that’s where the tournament tends to schedule its most anticipated matches, night tickets typically cost more than the equivalent day session, especially from the quarterfinals on.

Seating categories

Rod Laver Arena tickets are sold by section: longside seating runs along the length of the court, shortside sits behind the baselines, and each is split into an upper and lower tier. Lower tier seats cost more than upper tier at the same stage of the tournament. See our venue guide for what each section actually looks like.

When tickets are cheapest

The first week is by far the most affordable, and prices step up noticeably at each knockout stage from the quarterfinals onward. The men’s final is the most expensive ticket of the tournament by a wide margin.
