Monte Carlo Masters Day 3 Tickets — 1st & 2nd Round
Day 3 runs two rounds simultaneously — some first-round matches are still being completed while the earliest second-round matches are already scheduled. The result is one of the busiest days of the draw. Multiple matches run across Court Rainier III and the secondary courts, and the order of play can shift depending on the previous day’s rain or overruns.
This is when the qualifiers start to matter. A player who got through qualifying and won their first-round match is now in the second round, playing someone significantly higher-ranked. On clay that gap narrows fast. Day 3 has a habit of producing the kind of result that gets discussed for the rest of the tournament.
What the clay does by Day 3
By the third day of competition, the court surface at the Monte-Carlo Country Club has broken in properly. The top layer of red clay is more compact, the bounce is heavier, and the baseline game dominates. Serve-and-volley attempts that might work on faster surfaces don’t last here. What you’re watching is attrition — players waiting for the right moment to attack, then committing fully. It’s a different sport to indoor hardcourt tennis, and the live experience is the best way to understand why some players are described as clay court specialists.
Tickets for Day 3 are available in Upper Tier, Middle Tier, Lower Tier, Prestige, and Super Category. Two tickets are always seated as a pair. For larger groups, seats are arranged in pairs so nobody sits alone.
