Yannick Noah Day — Roland Garros
Yannick Noah Day takes place on the Saturday before the main draw begins — the day the qualifying week closes and Roland Garros transitions into tournament mode. It is an annual charity event organised by the FFT, and it has a different atmosphere from anything else at Roland Garros. Less competitive, more celebratory.
The centrepiece is a team exhibition match on Court Philippe-Chatrier — typically a clash between two sides captained by French tennis legends, with surprise guests and live entertainment between sets. The grounds are open throughout the day with activities across multiple courts, including opportunities for spectators to play on the clay themselves.
All profits from the day go to social and environmental tennis initiatives, primarily Fête le Mur, the charity founded by Yannick Noah in 1996 to bring tennis to underserved communities across France.
Who is Yannick Noah?
Yannick Noah won Roland Garros in 1983 — the last Frenchman to win the French Open. He was 23 years old, and the match is one of the most watched sporting moments in French television history. After his playing career he became a Davis Cup captain, leading France to the title in 1991 and 1996. He is one of the most recognised figures in French sport, and Roland Garros is his court in a way it belongs to nobody else.
The day named after him reflects that connection. It is a day for families, for children, for people who want to experience Roland Garros before the intensity of the main draw takes over.
What to expect
Yannick Noah Day is unlike any other day at Roland Garros. The programme varies each year but typically includes an exhibition match on Chatrier, children’s tennis activities on the side courts, the Roland Garros eSeries finals, walkway entertainment, and access to the grounds from 11am. It is relaxed, festive, and a good introduction to the venue for first-time visitors or families with children.
Tickets are for ground access across the full site. The exhibition match on Chatrier is included. Seating for the main Chatrier show is first come, first served within the stadium.
Buying Yannick Noah Day tickets
Tickets are available through the official FFT ballot and on the secondary market. Availability is generally better than for main draw sessions, making this one of the more accessible days at Roland Garros.
Tennis Ticket Service sources tickets from the secondary market. Prices are above face value and reflect current supply and demand. Every order comes with two guarantees: seats are always grouped in pairs, and you receive the category you ordered or a better one.
Cancellation policy
Cancellations are possible but subject to conditions. Orders cannot be cancelled within one month before the start of the tournament. For cancellations more than four months before the event, 50% of the ticket price is refunded. Between one and four months before the event, 40% is refunded. Once e-tickets have been dispatched, cancellation is no longer possible. Full details are in Article 11 of our Terms & Conditions.
