Madrid Masters Schedule

The 2027 Madrid Masters, officially the Mutua Madrid Open, runs from 19 April to 2 May at the Caja Mágica. It’s a combined ATP and WTA Masters 1000 event, the third stop in the clay swing after Monte-Carlo and Barcelona, and one of the longest tournaments on the tour at 14 days, with separate men’s and women’s finals.

Today’s order of play

The 2027 order of play will be updated here daily once the tournament is underway.

Tournament dates and format

Both the ATP and WTA draws play out over the same fortnight at the Caja Mágica, on outdoor clay under retractable roofs. Most days carry a day session and an evening session, each sold separately.

Day 2027 date
Day 1 19 April
Day 2 20 April
Day 3 21 April
Day 4 22 April
Day 5 23 April
Day 6 24 April
Day 7 25 April
Day 8 26 April
Day 9 27 April
Day 10 28 April
Day 11 29 April
Day 12 30 April
Day 13 1 May (Women’s final)

The exact round-by-round draw for the middle days is confirmed closer to the tournament, since a combined ATP/WTA event reshuffles slightly year to year.

Day session vs evening session

Day sessions typically start around midday, with several matches across the complex’s three courts. Evening sessions take over the Estadio Manolo Santana from early evening and tend to carry the tournament’s biggest names, since that’s where organisers schedule the matches they expect to draw the largest crowd.

Picking the right day

The opening days are by far the most affordable, with plenty of tennis across both draws. As the tournament progresses into the second week, prices rise with the stakes, peaking on the two final days. Madrid sits at around 650 metres of altitude, which means the ball moves faster through the thinner air than at sea-level clay events, a detail that regularly catches out players and spectators used to Monte-Carlo or Barcelona.
